FRIENDS OF BERRINGTON CHURCH ROOF APPEAL 2012
All Saints in Berrington is a grade 1 listed building built mainly of sandstone and standing proudly overlooking the rolling hills and fields of Shropshire of historical and architectural interest but, above all, a place of peace, where, during the day you can just sit, be absolutely quiet and recharge the batteries.
There is reference to a church at Berrington in the Doomsday Book. The present church is, however, later than that. The nave of the building we see today dates from the thirteenth century, at a later date the chancel was added.
Following a successful appeal the roof repairs began in early May 2013 and were completed by August.
We wish to acknowledge the following individuals and organisations for their generous donations;
We especially acknowledge the generosity of Parishioners and friends, who alone raised over £10,000 through private donations and support at our local fundraising events.
